Keep your latex looking its best with these simple care essentials.
1. Handle With Care
Keep sharp nails, jewelry, and rough surfaces away from latex. Handle with clean hands and avoid pulling hard at seams or openings.
2. Hand Wash After Wearing
Use lukewarm water and a cleaner made for latex clothing, following the label’s dilution instructions. Rinse well after washing.
No hot water, scrubbing, wringing, or machine washing.
3. Dry Completely
Lay flat or use a broad plastic hanger. Let both sides dry fully before storage. Do not tumble dry, iron, or use direct heat.
Keep Away From Sunlight
Dry in the shade, away from heaters. Direct sunlight and prolonged UV exposure, including from UV-emitting fluorescent lights, can discolor and weaken latex.
4. Use a Latex-Safe Polish
Choose a silicone-based polish made for latex clothing. Apply gently; avoid hard buffing or rubbing with a dry cloth.
Never use petroleum jelly, mineral oil, baby oil, or cooking oil.
5. Store Separately
Store clean, fully dry latex in a cool, dark place. Use latex care powder or a storage-approved latex conditioner to prevent sticking.
Keep light and dark colors separate. Avoid contact with printed materials and metal, especially copper, brass, and bronze. Fold loosely or hang without stretching.
6. Dress Without Pulling
Use a latex-safe dressing aid to reduce friction. If the garment catches, stop and adjust instead of pulling harder. Keep perfume, deodorant, and oily skincare products off the latex.
